I found an interesting article about a new kind of diving activity called Snuba. Basically, it’s snorkelling, but breathing with a 3-6 metre hose attached to a compressed air tank sitting on a boat. It’s popular in Hawaii.
You still need weights, fins, mask and a regulator. It only works in areas where there is no surface current and lots to see within a shallow depth. Unlike discover scuba, there is no training required.
Snuba is a registered trademark of Snuba International, which is based in California. It develops and sells snuba gear. I think I’d like to see some snuba operators around here.
